Happy Memorial Day if you live in the States! We’re celebrating our long weekend a few hours away with my mom. This is always a fairly meaningful holiday in my family. So many of us have served or are serving in all branches of the military – uncles, both grandpas, cousins.
A rare snap of my stoic paternal Grandpa smiling in his Air Force uniform.
In honor of the holiday, I put on this patriotic crelly glitter from KB Shimmer.
Just like most crellies, you can get it opaque in 2-3 coats – this is 2. Obviously I needed 3. Great, smooth self-leveling formula.
This greyed-out dark purple is my jam. It’s a crelly formula that’s thick enough to only need two coats, but is still sheer enough for the glitters to work. It’s the usual fabulous KB Shimmer formula.
This one was a fall release last year, but I just love this type of blue for spring. The crelly base is just the right consistency for the glitter to shine right through the layers. It’s best in 2-3 coats.
I have been buying and loving Vivid’s stamping plates for a couple of years, so when they had a sale, I had to try out some of the polishes as well.
This light lavender crelly has gold, silver, and purple metallic hex glitters, tiny silver glitters, and large purple butterflies. It gets opaque in 3 coats annd requires a bit of fishing to get those butterflies. But altogether a lovely polish.
This light blue crelly is full of gold and rose hexes, pink hexes and squares, and matte white hexes as well as tiny holo glitters. Like most KB’s crellies, this one is opaque in 2-3 coats and has a nice formula.
This crelly is a very, very, very pale lavender and contains purple, teal, and white hex glitters of various sizes. Opaque in 3 coats.
This white crelly is surely the ’80’s in a bottle. Its neon pink, green, and black hexes, bars, and triangles make me want to don jelly bracelets and a side ponytail a.s.a.p. Looks beat in 3 coats.
